Education & Training

Epilepsy ACT offers a wide range of training to individuals, organisations and community groups in the ACT and surrounding areas. All of our trainers have the appropriate qualifications to deliver these programs and have extensive experience in epilepsy and its management.

Workplace Training

Epilepsy ACT provides responsive information and education services to community organisations, health and welfare groups, businesses, education providers, students and any other group where a need is identified. For more information go to our workplace training page.

Community Education & Training

The Association provides in-house training to individuals who wish to gain a better understanding of epilepsy and seizure types as well as fist aid and epilepsy treatments. These community education workshops are run 6 times a year. For more information please see our community education page.

Emergency Medication Training

Emergency medications are used to support the management of seizure emergencies and are prescribed based on an individual’s needs. Midazolam is one type of emergency seizure medication, however, other medications may also be prescribed (Zyamis, Clonazepam or Diazepam). Online Training

The courses are industry recognised, available on all devices and suitable for people with epilepsy and their families, disability support workers, childcare workers, teachers, nurses and medical or allied health professionals. Our courses are listed opposite and are offered as Individual enrolments or Organisational enrolments.
